The Cabin opened in March 2012 and we have been growing our customer base and reputation since then. In 2013 we had a vision of building a new luxury Cabin for our clients and stupidly not put off by the huge effort this would entail we set to work. The Crow's Nest treatment room proved really popular and business continued to grow.
In July 2015 we opened another treatment room at the nearby 4 star Royal Hotel for guests to enjoy treatments in the hotel. More recently at the end of 2016 we completed and opened the Ocean Suite, our second luxury cedar cabin which is built exclusively for couples.
Last year we also won through to the final in the UK Professional Beauty Awards 2016, something we are very proud to have acheived.
We have a really superb team of friendly, experienced therapists, all focused on providing tailored treatments, as individual as each of our clients. On the team we have Grace Berryman, Erin Saxcoburg, Grace Wedlock-Ward, Kelsey Balfour, Katie Brazier and myself, Rowena Amos. Here are a few words from myself on how it all started:
"I got into working as a Therapist through Reiki, I have been practicing for over 20 years with formal Reiki training in the last 6 years. You could say it is something of a family tradition, this was something my Mum and Grandmother also practiced. I then went on to study Swedish and Sports Massage, Aromatherapy and Reflexology completing my training in Windsor and London.
In 2009 my mum was diagnosed with terminal cancer and as a result I spent most of my time caring for her both at hospital and then at home in the final weeks. I suppose that became a turning point as my experience with the NHS led me to understand there was a need for a more holistic approach to treatment.
I also then became involved in the management of my Dad's chronic leg ulcers, again conventional treatment only seemed to be making the ulcers worse so trying to take matters into my own hands I spent about a year researching wound care, pain management and other new alternatives of treatment. With our Doctors consent I managed his treatment at home which involved applying manuka honey, alternative ways of applying dressings combined with Massage and Reiki. Am pleased to say that our hard work paid off and his leg ulcers are now fully cured and he is able to walk as normal again.
The more people I treated the more I heard clients saying they wanted some real alternative options to managing their health. So it seemed that the timing was right to open a treatment room which would help to offer a bit more choice with organic, natural treatments with a focus on wellness.
And of course you don’t have to be ill or injured to have treatments! The best strategy is always prevention so taking some time out to care for yourself is something that we should all be doing more of. So whether you come to us simply for general well-being or with a specific condition we look forward to welcoming you at The Cabin."
